“People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.”
— Simon Sinek
Casstro Investments B.V. operates based on knowledge, experience, and vision. We invest in existing businesses and startups, using both equity and debt. The debt financing comes from investors we have personally approached, as we seek investors who are a good fit for a particular business or startup.
Sometimes this involves a minority stake, but our preference is to hold a majority stake, allowing us to determine what happens, when it happens, with whom, and how. The why is always clear and transparent: to make a profit. Of course, we do this with social responsibility in mind, and the following themes are important to us:
In addition to sustainability, there are several other key issues for businesses that influence their strategies and success. Some of these themes include:
Innovation and Technology
Companies must constantly innovate to stay competitive. This can range from developing new products and services to implementing the latest technologies, such as AI, automation, and blockchain.
Digital Transformation
The transition to digital platforms is crucial for companies to operate efficiently and reach a broad customer base. This includes aspects like e-commerce, data analysis, cloud computing, and digital marketing.
Customer Focus and Experience
Improving the customer experience is essential. Companies must address the desires and needs of customers by offering personalized experiences, fast customer service, and user-friendly platforms.
Diversity and Inclusion
There is a growing awareness that companies must do more to create a diverse and inclusive workplace. This can contribute to a more positive company culture, better decision-making, and access to a broader talent pool.
Ethical Business Practices and Corporate Governance
Transparency, fairness, and compliance with laws and regulations are becoming increasingly important. Customers and investors demand that companies make responsible choices in areas like working conditions, human rights, and fair trade.
Employee Well-being and Workplace Culture
Employee well-being is becoming more important. Companies that focus on a healthy work-life balance, mental health, and creating a positive work culture can not only attract talent but also ensure higher productivity.
Supply Chain Management
Optimizing supply chains for efficiency, reliability, and transparency is becoming increasingly important, especially during disruptions (such as the COVID-19 pandemic).
Social Impact and Community Engagement
Companies are increasingly held accountable for their role in society. From philanthropy to corporate social responsibility (CSR), companies are challenged to make a positive impact on the community and the world.
Financial Resilience and Risk Management
Companies must not only manage their finances well but also be able to adapt quickly to market changes, economic fluctuations, and unexpected crises.
Responsible Leadership
Strong leadership that is authentic, responsible, and transparent has a positive impact on company culture and the trust of both employees and customers.
